Recently, World Health Organisation (W.H.O) declares loneliness as a pressing global health threat.

High rates of social isolation and loneliness around the world have serious consequences for health and well-being.

People without enough strong social connections are at higher risk of stroke, anxiety, dementia, depression, suicide and more,” said W.H.O.

  1. 1 in 4 adults reported feeling very or fairly lonely
  2. The health risks are as bad as smoking up to 15 cigarettes a day, and even greater than those associated with obesity and physical inactivity.
  3. Loneliness is associated with a 50% increased risk of developing dementia and a 30% increased risk of coronary artery disease or stroke.
