What is Arthritis?
Arthritis is inflammation in the joints, leading to pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility.

There are more than 100 types of arthritis, but the most common are Osteoarthritis (OA), Rheumatoid Arthritis (R.A.), Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA), and Gout.

Common Symptoms:
Joint pain, stiffness, and swelling, usually worse in the morning.

Causes:
Different types of arthritis have different causes.
Like Osteoarthritis is due to age related wear and tear. 
Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disorder; body’s immune system attacks the tissues of the body.
Gout is due to excess uric acid in the body.
For other types of arthritis, the exact cause is unknown.

Risk Factors:
Age, genetics, family history, autoimmune diseases, viral infections, injuries, obesity, smoking, and lack of exercise increase arthritis risk.

Treatment:
Arthritis treatment involves combination of Medications, Supplements, Physical therapy, Diet and Exercise.

  1. Medicine like Analgesics are effective for pain management, Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to manage pain and inflammation and Menthol or capsaicin creams.
  2. Supplements like Avocado and soybean unsaponifiables for OA and fish oil and turmeric for R.A.
  3. Diet: with lots of antioxidants, such as fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs, can help reduce inflammation.
    Other inflammation-reducing foods include fish and nuts.
    Fried & Processed foods, dairy products and high intake of meat should be avoided.
  4. Exercise:
    Regular low-impact exercise like swimming, is often a good for people with arthritis because it does not put pressure on your joints.
    At-home exercises like: Head tilt, neck rotation; Finger and thumb bends; Leg raises and hamstring stretches for knee arthritis.

Prevention:
You can lower your chances of developing arthritis by Avoid tobacco, maintain a healthy weight, reduce the risk of joint injuries.

Remember; There’s no cure for arthritis, but with the right treatment, arthritis symptoms can be managed. Stay proactive, and you can lead an active and fulfilling life.
